#8 Letisha Azizah

Letisha Azizah is a disabled Marine Corps veteran who has lived in Rochdale Village Inc. for six years. In 2021, she was elected as a Rochdale Village board of director. In her tenure as a board member, she was Chair of Orientation Committee, Commercial Services Committee, and Treasurer. She contributed to several important changes during her term:

 

1. Implemented new policies to make check signing process more efficient.

2. Voted FOR the board to review new management companies

3. Voted FOR hiring new legal firm

4. Voted FOR term limits for board members

5. Voted FOR recognizing House Congress as a tenant association

 

After her first term, she took a break for a year but she is running this year to advocate for our cooperative again. When she was on the board, she advocated for transparency, holding contractors accountable, and giving reviews to our property management company. Letisha has over 15 years’ experience in Commercial and Industrial Real Estate.

Her skill set will give our corporation an advantage dealing with commercial tenants, budgets, communication, and various systems.

 

Using social media, she created the Decoration Facebook page which has hundreds of followers from our community. The pages allow cooperators to share pictures of their decorative apartment designs. With so much frustration about maintenance, public safety and poor communication, Letisha gave cooperators a safe space to communicate and promote positivity.

 

Letisha is amiable with a great spirit, but she also is driven with focus and determination. As a former board member, she understands the issues and the process. With the carrying charge increases, she will fight to keep Rochdale Village affordable. If she is re-elected, she will always put shareholders first because she loves the Jewel of Jamaica.
