I have been a proud resident of Rochdale Village for the past 25 years, witnessing both its challenges and its remarkable potential. I believe it is time to rekindle the sense of unity and shared purpose that once defined our community.

 

Professional Experience

My career of 38 years has always been rooted in service to Rochdale Village. I began in the Rochdale Village Public Safety Department, where I served for 3 yrs 6 months and progressed from Patrolman to Special Patrolman, working diligently to protect and support our residents.

 

My hands-on experience expanded into building maintenance. I worked as a porter my first year and advanced to handyman where I developed practical skills that contributed to the safety and upkeep of our facilities. My total years of service with maintenance was 7 years and 6 months.

 

Later, I worked at the Rochdale Village Power Plant for 27 years. My first 6 years I worked as an operator (boiler man) and then advanced to a mechanic until retirement. I also represented workers as the shop steward. My responsibilities included:

  • Performing preventive maintenance on critical infrastructure

  • Troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical systems

  • Overseeing daily operations and ensuring strict safety compliance

  • Maintaining detailed documentation and collaborating with engineers and operators for seamless plant performance

 

Community Involvement

My dedication extends beyond my professional contributions. I co-founded and coached the Davis-Johnson Basketball Tournament to foster youth engagement and teamwork. I also taught Shoto Khan Karate which develops discipline, focus, and mental clarity.

 

Vision as Board Candidate

As a candidate for the Board of Directors, I bring hands-on experience, institutional knowledge, and a commitment to transparency and responsible management-especially in this time of financial uncertainty. My priorities include:

  • Clear communication and accountability to shareholders

  • Efficient oversight of major projects, such as the convector upgrade

  • Strategic planning focused on long-term sustainability and resident well-being

 

With a fresh perspective and decades of service, I am ready to help guide Rochdale Village toward a stronger and more vibrant future.
